Kontihene has quit his church after the church criticized the dressing of a visitor. According to a Joy FM report, the artiste who has fellowshipped with the church for 10 years, said he was not amused by the action of the church after they insisted on moving the new member to the back or even ask her to leave the premises based on her dressing. Although he won’t mention the name of the church, the ‘Asesa’ hit rapper revealed in an interview on Joy FM that he felt the decision was wrong judgement on the part of the church. “The church was trying to play God. Ghana has topped the list of entries for this year’s Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) scheduled to come off on July 8, 2017 in Accra. According to Mimi Andani, the Director of GMAA, more entries were received from Ghanaian filmmakers than from other countries. “During the first two GMAA events, Nigeria topped the list of films received, however Ghana has taken over this year with a lot of series and short films,” she said. She made this known when she announced the submission of films for this year’s GMAA closed on Thursday, May 10, 2017. “We are glad to announce that by close of submissions last Thursday, the GMAA had received films from different African countries with 44.8 per cent more entries received this year compared to last year,” said Ms Andani. A Zimbabwean pastor has broken the internet after a video in which he claimed to be making a phone call to heaven goes viral. Some fans of dancehall colossus, Shatta Wale are unhappy because he was not nominated in 2017’s Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards. For the past few years, Shatta Wale has churned out numerous hit songs and has attracted a cult following that translates into the patronage of his craft, but he has not made it to the BET Awards yet. The movie industry in Ghana unofficially has been divided into two sub-classes. There is the elite sector known as Ghallywood and the local sector called Kumawood . Kumawood is located in the capital of the Ashanti Region, Kumasi whiles Ghallywood is situated in the nations capital, Accra. In narrating his ordeal, he said he contacted Mugeez for a feature on his song and that begun his nightmare of his huge sums invested into nothing. Involvement with Mugeez From last year June, according to Don, he called Mugeez for a feature and Mugeez charged a fee of GHC8000 but upon negotiations they agreed on GHC4000.
